WSGA Membership

The Women’s Southern Golf Association is an organization originally organized in 1911 accepting memberships from golf clubs located in the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.  Traditionally, payment of member club dues allowed the golfers residing in these states or playing college golf at a school located in these states to participate in our Championships.  However, the organization has suspended the collection of club dues starting in 2024.

In 2022 the organization made a decision to accept membership from golf clubs, women’s golf organizations, e-clubs and colleges located in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.  This change now allows national participation in our Amateur Championships.

In 2023, the organization voted to place the Mid-Amateur championship on a 3-year hiatus from 2024-2026.

The Senior Championship is still limited to the southern states as originally organized.

Again, the collection of club dues has been suspended starting in 2024.

The purpose of the WSGA is to promote, maintain and protect the game of golf among amateur women golfers. The association is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of dedicated volunteer women who conduct the Amateur and Senior Championships and who raise funds for college scholarships for graduating high school senior girls.
