Eligibility: Entry into the WSGA Senior Championship is open to amateur female golfers who have reached their 50th birthday by October 3, 2022, have a USGA handicap index not exceeding 23.5, and are members of the WSGA through a WSGA member golf club or women’s golf organization located within the 15 southern states and District of Columbia. All players must also have a physical address within the 15 southern states or District of Columbia. Submit dues ($35.00) to:

All contestants must have a handicap index computed under a USGA Handicap System and must be issued from a “golf club” which is licensed to the USGA Handicap System. Membership must be current as of the entry closing. A contestant may remit dues for her club.
Refund Policy: If a player withdraws prior to the entry withdraw date she will receive a full refund, less a $25.00 administrative fee. If a player withdraws after the withdraw date has passed, the player will not receive a refund.
Entry Procedure: The field will be limited to 112 players. The entries of the top 32 players and ties with the lowest handicap index received by August 3, 2022 at 5:00 PM (CST) will have priority entry. After August 3, 2022, all entries will be based on order of receipt. If entry applications exceed 112 on September 7, a wait list will be established according to the date of entry.
Exemptions: The most recent Women’s Senior Amateur Champion from the 15 southern states will receive an exemption into the WSGA Senior Amateur Championship. If a state’s 2022 Senior Amateur Championship does not take place prior to entries opening July 20. 2022, then the 2021 Champion will receive the exemption and the 2022 Champion will be exempt in 2023. The registration deadline for exempt players will be August 3, 2022 at 5:00 PM (CST).
Automatic entry will be given to the past three (3) WSGA Senior Champions registered by the exemption deadline:

Note: Exempt players must enter by the exemption deadline, or they may lose their spot in the field.
Championship Information
Player Field: 112 players
Format: Play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and consist of 54-holes of stroke play.
There will be two (2) sets of tees (approximately 5700 and 5300 yards). Players must choose which set of tees from which they wish to play. The 2022 WSGA Senior and Super Senior Champions will come from those players who play from the longer yardage unless there are no super seniors competing at the longer yardage.
Flights will be determined by 36-hole scores, and the committee reserves the right to determine flight size based on the number of entries. Awards will be presented in all flights.
The last day to change divisions will be Wednesday, September 28th at 5:00pm.
What’s Included: The entry fee includes cart fees, range balls, practice round, three rounds of tournament play, welcome reception, awards lunch, and prizes.

Registration Information: Player registration will be held on Sunday, October 2 between 7:00 AM (EST) and 2:00 PM (EST) in the Patio (Lobby pending weather). All contestants must register in person. In case of an emergency, players unable to attend registration, please call Amy Worthington at (214) 468-8942 Ext. 124.
Official Practice Round: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Woodside Country Club on Sunday, October 2. Players may contact the host club golf shop at (803) 649-4735 and identify themselves as a WSGA Senior Amateur Championship player to schedule their practice round. Players may call to schedule their practice round starting after the field is confirmed.
Additional Practice Rounds: Players may arrange additional practice rounds by contacting the host club golf shop at (803) 649-4735. Additional practice rounds will be subject to the host club’s availability. Additional practice rounds are at the individual’s expense and are provided at a reduced rate by the WSGA and the host facility for $72.00 and tee times will only be available after 12:00 PM (EST).
Championship Pairings: Pairings for the first round will be posted on the WSGA website (www.womens-southerngolfassociation.org) no later than Friday, September 30 by 5:00 PM (CST). Second and final round pairings will be made upon completion of the previous rounds. The pairings will be forwarded to the golf shop and players.
Prizes/Awards: The Katherine Graham Senior Trophy will be awarded to the Champion. The Super Senior Trophy will be awarded to the contestant who has reached her 70th birthday by October 3, 2022 and has the lowest 54-hole gross score in Championship Division. Prizes will be awarded for each flight.
Policies & Procedures
To ensure that competitors have the best possible experience when competing in the championship, it is helpful to be knowledgeable of Women’s Southern Golf Association (WSGA) Policies and Procedures, Terms of Competition and Local Rules (Hard Card), as established by the association. Cart Policy: Players must ride during the championship. Cart fees for all championship rounds are included in the entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group.
Caddies: Personal caddies are not permitted during the championship.
Electronic Measuring Devices: Electronic devices that measure distance only are allowed for this championship.
USGA Groove Condition of Competition: The USGA groove rules effective January 1, 2010 are not in effect for this competition.
WSGA Medical Cart Request Policy
Spectator carts are prohibited. However, spectators may request golf carts in accordance with ADA compliance standards. Requests for golf carts must be emailed to the Tournament Director, Amy Worthington (aworthington@txga.org) supported by complete documentation and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided. This must be completed by September 30 at 5:00 PM (CST).
