Hardin Wins Again at Southern

Thursday, September 29, 2011

Beginning the day with a six shot lead, Mina Hardin, the defending champion from Fort Worth, Texas , realized that 2009 WSGA Senior Champion Patty Moore was having a good round.  Moore shot a one under 71 for the low round of the tournament but it was not enough to overtake Hardin.   Hardin birdied the 17th hole which sealed the victory and Moore’s birdie at 18 got her under par but still 2 strokes back.

Patty Brogden finished third, eight shots off the lead with two-time WSGA Senior Champion Anna Schultz finishing fourth.  Claudeen Lindberg from Atlanta, Georgia won the Super Senior Title and finished tenth overall.

HARDIN VAULTS INTO LEAD AT SOUTHERN SENIOR
Wednesday, September 28, 2011

The Century old Women's Golf Association brought its prestigious Senior Championship to the doorsteps of the Palmetto Golf Club
as part of its Centennial Celebration.  After two days of analytical and physical attacks by the best Senior Amateur golfers
in the fifteen Southern States and the District of Columbia, the Palmetto Golf Club course design with its strategic bunkering and
elevated undulating greens has stood the test.  It has not allowed anything less than Par.

It was  Mina Hardin, Defending Champion's turn to grab par in the second round.  After finishing the front nine three over
she answered with three birdies on the back .  First round leader Patty Moore, from Charlotte, shot a 7 over 79
to fall to six shots back of the leader.  Two time champion Anna Schultz is third at 154 with Lin McMillan and Pat Brogden tied for fourth.
Claudeen Lindberg currently leads the Super Senior division.

The final round will begin at 9:00 a.m. with a shotgun start.

Awards will follow after play on the historical porches of the Palmetto Golf Club.
