2005 WSGA Senior Amateur Champion!
Martha Lang battled a determined Carolyn Creekmore to win her first
Women’s Southern Senior Championship by four shots.
Beginning the final round with a seven shot lead, a bogey by Lang on
the first hole opened the door and Creekmore made a birdie to cut the lead
to five shots. By the turn the
lead was two shots. “At the
turn, I was glad I had started with a seven shot lead.”
Lang and Creekmore then traded birdies at holes ten and eleven.
At hole fourteen Lang’s lead went to four when she birdied and
Creekmore bogeyed the par three and the two traded a couple of birdies
coming in for the final score.
